Dzangmu Kailash Trekking Tour

Mt Kailash Trek via Dzangmu can be a bit exhausting yet rewards you with the unforgettable views of the gigantic Himalayan scenery of Tibet and Nepal. Mt. Kailash, located at the elevation of 6714 m is also named as Kang Rinpoche, Tise, and Kailasa. It is regarded sacred by the Buddhist, the Hindus, Jains, as well as the Bonpos. From Kathmandu, we will drive all the way through the beautiful scenery of northern Nepal to Kodari which is the border between Nepal and China. We traverse the Friendship Bridge and then drive to Tibet after that to Zhangmu. You will experience the hugeness of the Tibetan highland as we take a trip to the north traversing the Brahmaputra River to Saga. On the way, we will also traverse Dolma La Pass lying at an altitude of 5630 m We will also visit the holy and pristine Manasarovar lake. We will then drive to Thrugu Gompa and also make a trip to the Seralung monastery. We will then drive to Gosul Gompa and walk further to reach Chiu gompa. Likewise, you will get a chance to visit Pilku Tso lake. Driving along the appealing scenery traversing some passes, we will reach close to Mount Shishapangma (8013m) which is the highest peak of Tibet. Additionally, we will drive to Dzangmu through Thong la pass lying over 5100m.

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, Nepal, over night Hotel
Arrival in Kathmandu. Pick you up from Airport & transfer to Hotel by our company representative and brief about the program, Bed, and Breakfast

Day 02: Preparation day Overnight Hotel
This day in Kathmandu - for preparation and conformity, evening briefing about the tour, overnight Hotel on BB plan

Day 03: Drive to Kodari -  Zhangmu (2300) - Nyalam (3782m), overnight Hotel
Drive early morning to Kodari from Kathmandu about 4 - 5 hours.  Along the Araniko highway, its self-eyeful scenery of little hills with paddy field as well as villages and small pass through markets. At the end, the section is to Barbise to Kodari about an hour, after rains the road is often trouble.  At the border customs, formalities can take time. There will be attending our border representative for crossing the luggage and camping goods.  Then Drive with lots of turning upwards to Nyalam.

Day 04: Acclimatization day 
This day is for acclimatization hiking up around Nyalum and evening come back to the hotel.

Day 05: Drive to Pigu Tso (4330m)
Today, you will be the drive to Pigu to (lake). Camp will be little way, behind the Shisapangma Himalaya with the cold night. The first drive up to Thongla passes 5153m and lalung la 5030m which gives you a view the huge  Mount Shishapangma 8,013m above the sea level. And also you will see Tibetan plateau front and spectacular mountains across gorge behind to the border side. 

Day 06: Drive to Dzongba (4500m)
Drive along the spectacular landscape with some passes and cross the Brahmaputra river. The views of the Dolpo,  Annapurna, Dhaulagiri massive of the Kingdom of Mustang of the Nepal Himalaya ranges.

Day 07: Drive to Horchu (4582m) – Manasarovar lake, overnight tended camp
Drive along the Tsang Po river (Brahmaputra} the tour show you views on the Dolpo,  Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massive and on the north side of the Kingdom of Mustang of the 

Day 08: Rest day
This day will be a lazy day after Kailash Kora, washing clothes, drying things and just walk around the lake relaxing. 

Day 09: Drive to Darchen (4670m), overnight Guesthouse
Today is short driving about 30 minutes,  Day trip to Gangda  and Sirliung Gompa if the local government allowed or just hike around for acclimatization.  Overnight stay in Guesthouse

Day 10:  Trek to Derapuk 4900m, Overnight tented camp
You can drive to Tarboche about 30 minutes or start trekking around the holy mountain of Kailash the highlight of the trip is two and half day  (51 miles) of the Holy Mount Kailash Kora/circumstance, which is called by the Tibetans and the Hindus Kora or Parikrama for the circumstance. The western valley is with Padmasambhava, the great magician, at Dirapuk gompa at 4900m height. From there, offers a fantastic view on the north side of the Mount Kailash, if you would like to camp close to the Mount Kailash then camp will be approximately 5000m plus. 

Day 11: Trek to Dolma La 5630m – camp at before Zutul phuk, overnight tented camp
After cross the wooden bridge little climb takes you the graveyard after Shiva Tsal Vajrayogini, as a symbol of death, pilgrims leave here back a piece of clothing or a little hair as well as money for next time.The Dolma La Pass is situated at 5630m, it is the physical and spiritually the highest point of the Kailash trip via Simikot. The Dolmala pass awaits you with colorful prayer flags. After the pass bellow appears Gauri Kund Lake (Tso Tuksche). Hindus takes bottle of holy water for them.

Day 12: Drive to Thrugu Gumba, overnight tented camp
Today, start of the circumnavigation of Manasarovar lakeYou can walk along the eastern shore to Trugo Gompa about seven to eight hours or alternatively jeep drive partly as you wise. You will have wonderful views of Mount Kailash across the blue Manasarovar Lake like sky.

Day 13: Drive to Chiu Gumba, overnight tented camp
Along the way either drive or walk with fantastic views along the Gurla Mandata and  Mount Kailash. Today, the circumnavigation on about two hours from Gossul to Chiu Gompa or  can also drive. Enjoy the serenity of the lake to visit the monastery and the hot springs

Day 14: Trek to Darchen, drive to Horchu Lake Manasrover 4582m, overnight tented camp

Day 15: Drive to Dzongba

Day 16: Drive to Dzaangmu

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu
