Api Base Camp Trek

Api Base Camp Trek is the most virgin trek in Nepal. It is a name of a mountain in far western Nepal. If you are looking for nontourist region trek in Nepal then the API Himal trek would be the best one ever you had before. So, there will be just you are as a tourist during your trip or a few numbers other, maybe.  First needs fly to Dhangadhi from Kathmandu (One hour 15 minutes) and explore rest day around if you wish to drive by local bus. This trek needs 4 days driving and as before start trek, one long day drive (8 hrs) & next day 2 hrs driving then start the trek. It is same after the trek second time 2 days driving, same way back. The region is protected by Api Nampa Conservation.

Api Himal Trek offers beautiful scenery of nature, wildness with a huge valley of grassland. The hugest mountains are Api (7132m), Nampa (6929m) and Bobaye (6808m) and also many more unnamed snowcapped mountains surrounding the valley. There are some lakes too and it is related to religion as well. Api trek route is the most remote region of Nepal and it is far behind regarding developing than other parts of Nepal.

Day01: Kathmandu Arrival

Day 02: Preparation

Day 03: Flight to Dhangadhi

Day 04: Drive to Dadeldhura 4.5 hrs

Day 05: Drive to  Gokuleshwor 4 hrs

Day 06: Drive to Trek to Makrigaad (1470m), 3 hrs then trek to Ghusa 5 hrs

Day 07: Trek to Khaikot 4 hrs

Day 08: Trek to Bhalya Khola 4 hrs

Day 09: Trek to Dhauli Odaar (3548m) (Known as Lower Api Base Camp), 2 hrs

Day 10: Api Base Camp (3861m), 2.30 hrs and back to Dhauli Odaar

Day 11: Trek back to Khaikot

Day 12: Trek back to Ghusa

Day 13: Trek to Makarigad for 3 hrs then drive to Gokuleshwor for 3 hrs

Day 14: Drive to Dhangadhi 

Day 15: Fly back to Kathmandu

Day 16: Kathmandu tour of Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Darbar Square, Pashupatinath & Boudhanath 

Day 17: Departure
