Lukla Flight From Ramechhap Manthali Airport Posted Date: Jul 29, 2019

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has announced that again affect the flights of Lukla sector from 1^st October to 31 December 2019. Instead of Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), the flights will be operated from Ramechhap Manthali airport during airport maintenance. Thus, Lukla fight is based on Ramechhap airport.

Nepal Kailash Trekking company highly apologies for the incontinence. Of course, airport upgrading or maintenance is a processing of a part development of the country and which makes easier for everybody after finished it.  It has been undergoing maintenance since April 2019. The airport keeps closed from 10 pm to 8 am for work.  

This routine will not be an effect on daily flights because the airlines manage all needs transportation to/from Ramechhap.  Of course, it affects to trekkers of Everest region because trekkers should start an early morning between 2 am to 4 am for 4 hours driving to Ramechhap airport. The flight duration will be 20 minutes to Lukla from Ramechhap. It is not yet increased the airfare so far. So, Lukla airfare is the same as before. There will be so many flights of Lukla in high season which holds traffic of the TIA. That is why TIA management does not want that effect other internal domestic flights as well as any international flights.

There are not so felicities hotels as even it is an airport located. We suggest you if you are fine too consider the quality of the hotel then better to move from Kathmandu one day before It is most suitable for those who have the first and second flights. According to airline companies, the first flight will be at 6 am from Ramechhap to Lukla.  It is better to know the elevation of Manthali airport is 1555ft (474m). Obtusely, the place is in low altitude and hot and humid so far.
