Nepal trekking equipment depends on what kinds of trekking you are planning for. It also depends on also which month of year you are going to Nepal for trekking. So, we suggest you that do not forget to ask once confirmed the trip with your agency, what equipment do I need for Nepal Trekking?

Rucksack, approximately 60 to 80 litter’s rucksack is fine. This rucksack will carry by your porter during the day. Sometimes, you will not see your porter during daytime around you. So, Porter will see direct at your lodge or camp site. That is why; you need to carry important stuffs by yourself. The things can be water bottle, extra camera batteries and chargers, sun hat (woolen hat for cold), gloves, sun protection lotion, lip balm, rain protection jacket and windproof jacket, toiletries, passport, money, basic personal medicines, etc.

 

If you are first time in Nepal for trekking then ask to your guide, every evening what kinds of climate will be next day or geography of the region. According to the guide’s suggestion you may take your things in your day backpack. It may be like a raincoat, windproof jacket, down jacket (normally use it above 3500m in morning and evening and hiking to the highest point called Ri/peak, normally starts an early morning for sunrise views). During the day while you walk, there will be hot in low lands and even in high land also gets warm. That is why, no need down jacket while you walk on a trek. You may carry flees, windproof jacket. Keep enough drinking water during the day. It will be much better to fill water from the lodge which is boiled, avoid mineral water because of the plastic bottle. We, Nepal Kailash Trekking also suggest you take sandal (flip flops) which sufficient morning and evening around your campsites. It is much better to take walking poles. Normally, two members get one porter and he carries up to 25 kg which is reliable weight for trekking in Nepal. Remember, if you are going to trek where you need a domestic flight then the aircraft allow you up to 15 kg per person with your hand bag (day backpack). You need to pay yourself extra charge if over 15 kg and it cost approximately $1 to 1.5 per extra kgs.
